Legal protections help victims in the difficult period following a car accident. In an Ohio community south of the Mansfield and Sandusky, OH area, a car accident recently claimed the life of an infant and injured multiple other victims. According to authorities, the fatal car accident occurred when a pickup failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a minivan. As a result, the minivan left the roadway, rolled over and ejected some of the passengers it was carrying. An infant was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

In addition, the 34-year old driver of the minivan suffered life-threatening injuries. Two addition adults and three juveniles traveling in the minivan were also taken to a local hospital along with the driver of the minivan. The other victims in the minivan suffered severe injuries in the car accident. Another juvenile was taken by helicopter to a children’s hospital. The 24-year old driver of the pickup and their passengers were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Personal injury options are important legal options available to car accident victims who have been injured in a car accident and surviving family members of loved ones killed in a car accident. When a negligent or careless driver causes a car accident, they may not be able to walk away without bearing liability for the harm they have caused. A personal injury or wrongful death claim for damages can help hold negligent drivers responsible and ensure they compensate victims for their physical, financial and emotional damages.

Car accident victims and their families may suffer damages including medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and wrongful death damages. Help is available to them through personal injury legal protections for victims who have unexpectedly suffered harm in a car accident.
